1. Video structure
In my instructional video production, although there are no hard and fast rules for design, designers have put forward a set of principles to guide good design. In the first edition, we can see that the overall structure is loose and the series is not strong; In my video improvements, I was able to optimize levels of structure, color, space, and more based on Adobe’s 8 basic design principles. Therefore, the improved video is more smooth and comfortable in video transition, color collocation and hierarchy.
2. Content expression
In terms of content expression, the content of teaching design was not fully considered in the initial video. The whole presentation was complicated and unfocused. In the process of content optimization, I first made clear the goal and theme of the video, took learners and their expression as the primary content, connected the whole content in a goal-oriented way, and then imperceptibly delivered the content to learners to achieve the goal. Finally, I added some evidences to achieve a better effect.
3. Powerpoint presentation
At the same time, we should also pay attention to whether the content of the slide is reasonable, such as whether the content expressed is too complex, whether the point of view is clear, whether the logic is strong, and whether the combination of text and text is balanced, etc. Therefore, the video I modified has only one point of view on each page, which makes the picture cleaner and highlights the theme. There is not much text explanation on the content of each slide, but mainly a summary of the main point of view, and then guide readers to read it without reading the above content.
4.Conclusion
Finally, the three key components of video structure, content and expression mode are comprehensively improved. The improved video has a much clearer logical structure, cleaner points of view and a sharper focus.
This teaching video production also made me understand that everything is easier to look at than to do, so is video production, which includes many aspects, including installation, recording, editing, transcoding and so on. Each aspect also involves a lot of operation, which requires us to try and explore constantly, familiar with and master each operation in practice. As the saying goes, “Practice tests truth”, hands-on operation, investment, can improve their own video production ability, can let the production of video vivid, eye-catching.
